Hoodia Side Effects :: What They Dont Tell You
Posted by admin | Filed under hoodia side effects

Almost every manufacturer or seller claim that there are NO Hoodia side effects.
But first, what exactly is a side effect? This might seem like a silly question, but ask yourself: have you ever read of any positive side effects?
No? Look on any product website, and the mention of side effects is automatically assumed to be a bad thing.
That assumption is wrong. All ‘side effect’ really means is ‘another effect, other than the intentionally desired effect.’
For example; You’ve just logged onto a website and it tells you that Hoodia is known to heighten the moods of some individuals – including sexual arousal. Surely this isn’t a bad thing? If anything it is a bonus – However when marketing Hoodia as a weight loss supplement – Sexual arousal is classed as a side effect.
Yet put the words ‘contains side effects’ onto any website, and the majority of consumers wouldn’t even give the product a second glance. Let alone, read on to see what the side effects were.
Hoodia Gordonii, although proclaimed to have no known side effects, does in fact have a few. But they are not what you think they are.
Hoodia Side Effect : Your Liver
When Phytopharm was first given the patent to P57, they teamed up with Pfizer to put the active molecule into production. And they made an interesting discovery.
Following extensive tests, they discovered that P57 is easily broken down by the liver. Good news so far, but for anyone with an abnormal liver this could spell increased stress levels on the liver.
Considering that P57 can not be isolated from the other active ingredients in the core of the Hoodia Gordonii plant, it is advisable that anyone wanting to use a Hoodia supplement should consult with their doctor.
Hoodia Side Effect : Other Medication
The technical term for this is contraindication. It means that the supplement MAY interfere with other medications you are taking – It is the same with any product you can find on the market. There is a small risk that it may affect your other medications.
Take the contraceptive pill for example – 99% effective when taken alone, but add antibiotics to the mix and it’s effectiveness, well… lets just say that it no longer does the job properly.
It is just a question of monitoring what you are taking. If you suffer from diabetes, blood pressure or depression, then you should be careful.
Hoodia Side Effect : Diabetes

Hoodia works by affecting the neurotransmitters that go to your brain. Namely your hunger signals. It is through this that your appetite becomes suppressed and you therefore lose weight.
Sounds great, but if you are diabetic this can affect your blood sugar levels. If your hunger signals are turned off – all of the normal warning signs could come too late.
If you are diabetic, you should consult with your doctor before taking ANY weight loss supplement, not just Hoodia.
So is Hoodia safe?
Yes!
But as with any medication or supplement, if you have another underlying condition such as diabetes then you should consult your doctor before taking any other medication.
I think that it is a little irresponsible of companies to generalise and claim that there are NO Hoodia side effects. It is important that people with pre existing conditions be alerted to the possible Hoodia side effects before choosing to invest in the product.

i currenly take rampril 10mg for blood pressure i it be safe to use hoodia
No matter what the product is that you’re thinking of taking to lose weight, I would always recommend speaking to your doctor beforehand if you are taking any other prescription drugs due to potential contraindications between medications.
